Pat Cummins has taken over 300 dismissals in 71 Test matches with an average of 22.10.
Australia's selection chief the selector has confirmed that pace spearhead Cummins will have a crucial role in this winter's historic rivalry.

The selector shared that his recovery is on track and was "optimistic" about the prospects of participating.
"We're aware that time is getting short and various factors around that, aside from the back issue, but other factors as well," the selector added.
"We're encouraged. [We are] really confident that he will feature a significant role. With luck from the opening match. Should that not happen, we'll reassess."

Backup Options

Versatile player Green was withdrawn recently from the national team for their ODI contests against the subcontinent side as a precautionary measure because of soreness in his side.
The selector characterized it as a "slight concern and stated that Green will play in the state-level matches, so will be "ideally positioned to resume bowling."
"Extensive planning has gone into developing the strategy for him to participate for the initial game as an all-rounder," Bailey explained.
"Originally, he'd only feature in the initial matches in any case. His aggressive style the willow in shorter formats, if it causes any delay for another day, the choice was made to adopt a safer strategy."
